About this course
Working with molten metal is a high-risk activity, and safety is critical. This short course introduces you to the safe pouring of molten metal in foundry and metal casting workplaces across Australia. You will learn what molten metal is, why it is dangerous, and how accidents can occur during pouring operations.
In this course, you will:
• Understand common pouring hazards such as heat, splashes, and explosions
• Learn correct PPE and safe work zones
• Explore basic ladle handling and communication practices
• Understand emergency actions for spills, burns, and fires
No prior experience is required. The course uses simple language to build strong safety awareness and confidence.
